If you tell the truth you don’t have to remember anything.
-Mark Twain

One of the keys to having success, excelling in high stake situations, and reaching your TRUE potential is to focus on facts, not fiction.

We did many of the popular self-help programs, therapies, listened to the round robin of success gurus, read their books and found ourselves in worse shape then ever.

After years of going through the endless revolving door of self-improvement we came upon a key understanding.

We weren’t the problem. Self-improvement was! Many of the systems we had studied were deeply flawed and inaccurate. As we reflected on the past and current climate of personal development, and many psychologies, we realized they were enmeshed in truthiness, most likely unknowingly so.

Truthiness was coined by Stephen Colbert and is “a quality characterizing a ‘truth’ that a person claims to know intuitively ‘from the gut’ or because it ‘feels right’ without regard to evidence, logic, intellectual examination, or facts.” (Wikipedia). In other words it’s truthy.

One of the reasons it’s so easy to buy into truthiness is because it appeals to your emotion and comfort and makes you feel good, but unfortunately only temporarily. It’s understandable why one could be susceptible to this phenomenon, especially if you’re unsuccessful or overwhelmed by the success you’re having, or constantly struggling, suffering, stressed, feeling trapped, alone, or are run by fear, anger or anxiety.

Here’s the litmus test. If you’re trying to change, fix, heal, or transform yourself and your life, you’re most likely operating out of a truthy model. Why?

Physics has proven that you’re basically a packet of energy. This QUANTA or energy packet called YOU also consists of thoughts, memories, emotions, association, perceptions and body sensations. All of which are made of ENERGY.

Is energy good or bad?

It’s neither. It just IS.

Energy’s nature is that it changes, transmutes and transforms itself. That’s the TRUTH! And with a few more key pieces of information and our powerful processes you would quickly see this TRUTH operating in your life.

To think or buy into the truthiness that you do the changing is false. Of course it feels good to think you’re in control or in charge of change. But just because it feels good doesn’t mean it’s true. And therein lies the rub. One of the great seductive traps is, “If it feels good it must be right.” Feeling are only one of many pieces to the puzzle of truth and relying ONLY on feelings can set you up for falling for “truthy” models. “Truthiness” zaps you of your vitality, generates denial, disconnect, pain, and ultimately a deep sense of failure. Also, when you’re operating out of a truthy model you often make great efforts with very poor results. The bottom line is, when you have the right information and tools, shift happens!

Here’s a further example. Do you know what your next thought is? Nobody does! You only recognize it AFTER it’s occurred. How are you going to change or control something that’s already happened and which you have no control over? What you need is a factual understanding of the nature of thoughts and tools and techniques that are true to those facts.

If you’re making genuine and sincere efforts and aren’t making tangible progress, look to the system, it’s information, and its techniques. It’s most likely truthy.

Facts + Truth greatly increases the likelihood of you having success, excelling in high stake situations, and reaching your true potential.
